Job Description

We seek to hire a Content Marketing Manager to work in our Virginia Beach, VA; Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC; or Macon, GA office who will be responsible for content creation and copywriting that advances the organization’s brand reputation and achieves corporate goals.  This position will create and/or modify compelling communications designed to attract and engage Clark Nexsen clients.  A Content Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Business Development and coordinates with Management, Marketing Managers and the Corporate Communications Manager
 
General responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
 

  • Create and edit marketing materials for use online and offline – articles, blog posts, news releases, landing pages, white papers, case studies, presentations, scripting, social media communications, and other projects as needed.
  • Serve as a corporate copywriter responsible for writing and editing corporate marketing materials including Statements of Qualifications, proposals, project summaries, staff biographies, cover letters, blog posts, content marketing, speeches, and other materials as necessary.
  • Work with leadership to implement brand voice and tone that is consistent with corporate vision for all marketing materials.
  • Conduct training sessions to enhance all marketing team members’ capabilities and writing confidence.
  • Participate in visioning sessions and coordinate with visioning group to ensure brand voice is being accurately applied.
  • Provide content development and proofreading support to offices in public relations and social media efforts.
  • Partner with subject matter experts within the firm to create compelling and accurate technical content.
  • Work with the Corporate Communications Manager on the content of company website.
  • Manage and maintain the internal marketing blog.
  • Work with creative staff to develop ideas and create materials in which messaging and design complement each other effectively.
  • Coordinate with internal departments on messaging and project management regularly.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Managers on developing, managing, and executing yearly department goals, objectives, and strategies.
  • Support corporate communications personnel with copywriting as needed for internal communications, to ensure that employees are aware of changes and projects within the company.
  • Support creation of executive messages, prepare presentations, and internal memos.
  • Support Corporate Communications Manager with content in the pursuit and preparation of design award submittals.
 
Education
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, Business or related field is required.
 
Licenses, Certifications, and Accreditations
  • CPSM (Certified Professional Services Marketer) certification may be given additional consideration
 
Software Skills
 
A Content Marketing Manager should be able to effectively utilize all Microsoft Office applications and current company software programs for word processing, e-mail, and information management. Current programs include:
 
  • MS Word
  • MS Excel
  • MS Outlook
  • MS PowerPoint
  • Social Media Applications (Facebook, LinkedIn, twitter, etc.)
  • Web Content Management System(s)
  • Email Marketing System(s) – Contact Manager, MailChimp, or Emma, etc.
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe InDesign
 
Career and Work Experience
 
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience writing marketing communications such as collateral, case studies, white papers, email, advertising copy, blogs, and website content.
  • Previous experience in the A/E industry and hands-on experience preparing responses to government RFPs and RFQs is strongly preferred.
 
Other Criteria
 
  • Familiarity with Chicago and/or AP Stylebook.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively on multiple projects simultaneously in an extremely fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to prepare effective and concise documents, free of grammatical and spelling errors
  • Ability to effectively communicate with senior-level management
  • Have a client-oriented attitude with a desire to provide outstanding professional services
  • Be dedicated to his or her professional development as well as the success of colleagues and the firm as a whole
  • Ability to travel.This position will require occasional travel.

Selection will be based on your application and submitted writing sample. We are also interested in seeing writing samples to include communications in response to RFPs, website content, branding or visioning, and marketing cover letters.  Please follow our 2-step process:
