Job Description
We seek to hire a Director of Business Development to work in our Virginia Beach, VA office.  This position will be responsible for coordinating all marketing and business development activities for Clark Nexsen. The position reports directly to the President. 

General responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Development of annual corporate marketing and business development plans including proposed budgets as directed by the President.
  • Supervise direct research to support strategic new growth initiatives.
  • Supervise and coordinate the efforts of Marketing Managers, the Corporate Communications Manager and any other employees assigned to the Director of Business Development.
  • Assist the Business Units in the development and implementation of each Business Units marketing plan.
  • Coordinate efforts with the Marketing Managers in other offices to implement firm-wide marketing plans, initiatives, policies and procedures.
  • Visit each branch office on a regular basis and serve as a resource in support of other offices.
  • Supervise the Marketing Managers in the scheduling and management of all proposals and presentation materials.
  • Supervise the quality control plan and implementation for all proposals and presentation materials.
  • Identify and recommend business development staff training programs, policies, or procedures to the President.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise all Marketing Managers.
  • Participate and in many cases lead the business development and public relations efforts as directed. 
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports, analysis, and other marketing reports to the Board of Directors and others as assigned.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field is required
Licenses, Certifications, and Accreditations
  • CPSM (Certified Professional Services Marketer) certification is desirable but not required.
Career and Work Experience
The Director of Business Development will typically have a minimum of 15 years of marketing experience specifically in the A/E industry.  Extensive experience in managing marketing staff and other business development Principals in multiple geographic offices is required.  Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, organizational and time management skills; ability to work without close supervision in a team environment; thorough knowledge and mastery of marketing and business development principles, systems and organization; and superior oral and written communication skills required.  Knowledge of Deltek Vision CRM or other CRM packages is strongly desired.
